Homework over Thanksgiving!!

Learn your lines and lyrics for Monday!  We can see you still don't know them.

Parents, if they're telling you they know the words, don't believe them!

Learn how to tie a tie.  It's a life skill.  Buttoning shirts and tying shoes might need a bit of revision too!

Remember to pack your make up bag and to bring al the last minute bits and pieces you've been promising to bring in for the past month!

Listen to the music!!  There are no more rehearsals, this is it.  We can't do it for you any more.

Happy Thanksgiving!!  See you at tech.

  Friday November 19 - Sitzprobe

CAST & Jr. CAST: 4pm to 6.30pm Room 140

I will be collecting checks for The Leotard between 3.30pm and 4pm tomorrow in Room 138.  If you would like your leotard collected and delivered to school for Monday's rehearsal please get your check to me by then. (Thank you Nancy.)

If you cannot get your check to me, please go to The Leotard and collect your order.   It is under West Sylvan Drama.

For information on how much your order costs, please go to the blog entry dedicated to leotard and tights.

Sitzprobe is for the benefit of the musicians.  All Cast are required to be there.  Jr. Cast are welcome if you can be patient and quiet when not singing.

There is a lot of sitting around involved this evening and all members of the company are required to participate with patience and respect.

The Orchestra consists of volunteer musicians for the most part and they need this evening with the kids to figure everything out.

Mrs. Hindlin will have snacks for everyone to keep the wiggles from getting out of control.

Thanks for being patient on this one kids.  Adults are welcome to sit in and listen to the music.

  Next Week:

If you are not going to be at rehearsals next Monday and Tuesday you should have told me by now.

Please work on your lines and music over the break.  When we return it will be three very fast rehearsals to opening night.

If you would like to volunteer in any role with this production we still need you.  Please let me know.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Paul, Andrew and Elaine.

Parent Stage Volunteers Needed

We need 2 adult volunteers for show nights and dress rehearsals.

Once again we will have dry ice for one scene in the second act.  We need you to handle dry ice and boiling water and ferry them both under the stages and mix them on cue.

If you would like an opportunity to see what goes on back stage without your children being mortified by your presence, this is your chance.

If we can train four adults we can split the nights so everyone gets to see their kids.

Thanks for your help!

Elaine

Costuming

Here is where we can discuss costuming.

The time stamp is 1950's the look is a cartoon crayola version.

Every cast member will need a men's hat from that time.  Fedora being the easiest to identify.

We need loud suits and shirts, loud ties, 1950's dresses, sweaters or slacks.

Boys will wear dress shoes, many will be painted.  If you have some in your Goodwill pile bring them in.

Girls will wear ballet flats for easy of movement and sound.

Mission Band and Jr. Cast: a navy blue bottom, pleated shorts, skirt, pants that we can shorten.  A blue buttoned shirt.  Grey or black long socks.  Dark shoes.  (Jazz shoes would work).

Hot Box Girls: bring an old pair of blue jeans that we can cut into shorts.  If you have a spare pair please bring them along.

Policeman's uniform x 2
Mechanic's overalls x 1
Blue skirt for Sarah Brown - pleated or long

I'm opening this for discussion so everyone can check in if they find something or have a question.

Thanks everyone.

Elaine

Nancy Jackson will take orders for The Leotard after lunch on Saturday.  Please place an order with her if you do not have a nude leotard and footless tights or you need to order a new set.

Things we need

If you have men's shoes that fit you that we can paint for the show, please bring them with you.  (Big brother's dancing school shoes?)
If you can find a men's hat that you can use for the show, please bring it.  Fedoras in straw, felt, wool.  Colours welcome and we may add a coloured band to them.  Grandpa, Target, Goodwill, see what you can find.
White gloves from Friday night dancing school?  We need them.
Long white gloves?  We need them.

Thanks for all your patience,

Concession Stand & Kiss-O-Grams

Coordinator for Concessions Needed

We are looking for a contact person who will coordinate concessions.

An overview of what concessions does...

We order pizzas delivered
We buy candy and drinks from Costco or other.
We buy roses.
We make popcorn (and maybe cookies).

We have volunteers to man the tables on show nights and we will have student volunteers to help out.
We ask one person to make a run to Costco on show days.
We have a finance person to deal with money.  (Thanks Amanda!)

Our concessions person would be the point of contact for volunteers.  He/she would schedule volunteers, take stock of supplies and coordinate orders and shopping.

We can split this into smaller pieces if we need to.

Craft Genius Needed - vacancy filled (Thanks Grace!)

We need someone to take on the creation of our kiss-o-grams this year also.  We have logos and ideas so if you like craft projects, this one's for you!

Thanks for having a look.  We can't do this without you.

I'm opening this up for discussion so anyone interested can ask questions or make suggestions.
As always anyone taking a lead role will have all the support they need from Karen and Elaine.
